NorSea Wind, which is headquartered in Esbjerg, has won the contract for operation and maintenance of the Sprogø Offshore Wind Farm in the Great Belt. The Norwegian owned company began the job on January 1 2019, after getting the contract through a bidding process.

“Our employees’ skills makes us believe that we can save costs on the maintenance tasks of the wind turbines” says NorSea’s CEO, Dennis Jul Pedersen.

According to NorSea, the contract is considered a milestone within wind turbine support, as it is one of the first of its kind where a complete O & M deal is made with a third-party supplier.

It was officially opened at the end of 2009. A special designed crew transport vessel that will do maintenance of the offshore wind farm is currently being built by Valling Ship Solution.
