Maersk improves Asia-Europe network
A.P. Møller has announced the changes in their services that connect Asia and Europe. The changes will further improve Maersk’s planning security, which enables stabile and reliable freight delivery for the customers of the world’s most comprehensive Asia-Europe network.
"In order to meet our customers need for reliable freight delivery, we have examined our service network and have found additional time to overcome potential delays, which we still face due to bad weather conditions and other external factors. I believe that these changes in our service network will improve the reliability of our schedule, and I look forward to serving our customers with this improved product, " says European Trade Manager of A.P. Møller – Maersk, Johan Sigsgaard.
Thus the company is improving schedules, increased reliability, while maintaining competitive transit times and port coverage. The changes made in the network apply for Asia – Northern Europe and Asia – the Mediterranean Sea routes. The western sailing is scheduled to begin in March 2019.
By operating the industrys most comprehensive Asia – Europe network, Maersk will have additional buffer time by making reductions on eight of the networks port arrivals. The reductions will be made by minimal influence on the product offers by combining double arrivals and competitive transshipments.
In addition to this, Maersk are adding six vessels to the ten service routes in the network, where the weekly capacity will remain the same due to speed reductions.
