CEO Jens Holger Nielsen leaves Samskip
Jens Holger Nielsen helped Samskip become one of the most important pan-European shipping-and logistics companies, who offer multimodal transport and related services on land, sea, railroad and in the air through a network of more than 70 European offices. It has not been made official who will take over his position.
"After spending 12 years at Samskib, I have decided that it is time for me to start the next chapter of my career. The Samskib organization was informed of this back in July. I am proud of what we accomplished at Samskib, and I look forward to the next transformation opportunity that I now will have more time for. I would like to thank the owners of Samskip for supporting my decision, and I look forward to continuing our working relationship through specific counselling tasks the coming months”, says Jens Holger Nielsen.
Samskib has begun a process that aims to spark a new leadership structure that will the company to continue to grow. The result will be made official ad a later date, according to Hjörleifur Jakobsson, chairman of the board.
The ongoing development includes a transformation process, as part of this a convincing new technology platform for the purpose of increasing flexibility, further improving customer service and value profile, operational transparency, cost-effectiveness and user-friendliness.
Samskip expects consolidated revenue of over 800 million Euros this year and employs 1,600 people in 24 countries. Samskip is one of Europe's largest multimodal, short sea and logistics operators. The company has a goal of becoming the leading North Atlantic and pan-European operator.
