330 members of the Danish Naval Home Guard and 10 of the Home Guard’s vessels visited the municipality of Struer this weekend, in order to practice some larger drills, which includes acting as support for the Danish Maritime Authorities units. This drill is one of the largest of its kind ever to happen in Denmark.

The Home Guard does important tasks that helps society and we are happy to welcome so many dedicated volunteers," said mayor of Struer, Niels Viggo Lynghøj, during a speech to the participants on Saturday.

The Danish Maritime Authority is also present in Struer with the transport ship Sleipner, which is used for several drills. The same goes for 20 Rigid- Hulled inflatable boats.

Although the naval department is in focus, other of the Home Guard’s sections are also present. This can be seen in the amount of military vehicles and installations around the harbour in Struer.
