The entire industry of onshore and offshore energy production plans to strengthen cooperation revolving innovation with the help of creating one common platform. Ørsted, Total E & P Denmark and Siemens Gamesa are among the companies backing up the new innovation network.

The Danish onshore and offshore energy production has to focus on their external innovation in one place. This was one of the key points that the attendees learned from Offshoreenergy.dk's annual meeting, which was recently held in Horsens.

"By collecting innovation from the whole industry in one place, we acquire both a solid network and more innovation for the same price," says Jesper Møller, Head of Offshore Concepts & Solutions, Siemens Gamesa.

Ole Hansen, Asset Manager, Total E & P Denmark, agrees with this statement. He believes that innovation will flow more freely in a focused innovation network:
"We consider ourselves to be a energy company that has to think broadly," says Ole Hansen, who believes that everyone will benefit from a strengthen cooperation revolving innovation.

For Ørsted's CEO R&D, Wind Power, Christina Aabo, the synergy effects are an obvious advantage:
"When all companies and knowledge institutions use the same organization and platform to formulate and work on innovation projects; when both the small businesses and the GTSs play their part and there is good support from the big companies, we get a strong and attractive innovation environment, "says Christina Aabo.

Glenda Napier, CEO of offshoreenergy.dk stresses that the central point of the new organization is still that it should be a neutral platform that can solve industry challenges through innovation collaborations.

"With shared offshore and onshore innovation, we can further increase synergy effects among companies and knowledge institutions – which will benefit both large and small businesses in the entire value chain," says Glenda Napier.
