Ørsted makes hosptal deals in Taiwan
Offshore wind farm creators Ørsted has signed declarations of intent (MoUs) with Show Chwan Memorial Hospital and Changhua Christian Hospital in Taiwan, regarding a partnership in making hospitals prepared for patients of offshore wind farm related accidents.
"As the responsible employer, it is a must that we have access to the best possible medical facilities if the need occurs. Therefore, we are pleased to sign the MOUs to support these hospitals and their employees in developing capabilities and obtaining relevant international certification to provide the best possible care for the Greater Changhua projects, "says Matthias Bausenwein, Ørsted's General Manager Asia Pacific.
Ørsted are also going to present their health, safety and environmental (HSE) standards to Changhua and support the two partnership hospitals in offering hospital services for offshore wind farms. Aside from this, Ørsted plans to invest in the health and safety infrastructure in Changhua by establishing a helipad.
Ørsted will develop four offshore wind farm projects with a total capacity of 2.4 GW, located off the Coast of Changhua County. The Greater Changhua offshore wind farms are 35 to 60 kilometres off the coast of Changhua. With reservations to Ørsted's final decision regarding the investment, the construction of the first of the four projects could already begin in 2019.
