Danish-Korean deal on e-navigation in place

Denmark and South Korea have decided to expand their cooperation regarding digitalization of marine navigation. This includes bettering e-navigation systems and development of advanced technologies, which will be used as autonomous vessels, according to South Korea's ministry of oceans and fisheries.

Kim Young-Choon, South Korea's Ocean and Fisheries Minister and Denmark's Minister for Industry, Brian Mikkelsen, signed an amendment to a memorandum of understanding, MOU, on Friday, February 23 in Seoul. This happened during a business trip where they met with a numerous Danish business organizations.

The memorandum of understanding for maritime cooperation between the two countries was originally signed in May 2012. Danish Shipping company Danske Rederier participated in the visit to Seoul and Busan, which ended on Friday in Seoul together with numerous Danish organizations such as Danske Maritime, Dansk Industri and Eksportforeningen.
