Nissum Bredning produces its first power
Siemens Gamesas 7 MW wind turbines at Nissum Bredning demonstration site produced its first electricity last Saturday, February 17th. The first power was produced after a successful inspection of the three cables that connects the wind farm’s four turbines to the Thyborøn substation.
Once the tests were done, which took place during the night, the three wind turbines were shut down until the whole cable connection which connect the wind turbines is completed.
The 28 MW wind farm, which serves as a demonstration site for Siemens Gamesas technology, is expected to be up and running in March.
The wind turbines are installed on gravity jacket foundations and are wire-connected to a new cable and turbine concept with a 66-kilovolt voltage.
