Danish-Chinese cooperation on green ships
A delegation from the Chinese Ministry of Industry will visit Denmark as part of the Danish Maritime Authority's cooperation between China and Denmark. During the three-day visit, a Danish-Chinese workshop will be held on energy-efficient ship design and maritime equipment.
"The Danish-Chinese government work is a powerful tool that gives us good opportunities to exchange knowledge and experience within green ship design and maritime equipment, where a major shipbuilding nation like China is an important partner. I am pleased that there is great support and interest from Denmark to cooperate," says Andreas Nordseth, Director of the Danish Maritime Authority.
At the workshop, the Danish Maritime Authority, the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Chinese authorities, as well as shipping companies, equipment manufacturers, DTU and Danske Maritime will participate.
In connection with the workshop, Danske Maritime and the Shipbuilding Information Center of China, an institute under China Shipbuilding Industry Cooperation, one of China's two major state-owned shipbuilding conglomerates, will simultaneously sign a so-called Memorandum of Understanding on closer industrial cooperation in green shipbuilding, green maritime technologies and offshore - equipment.
The agreement is based on the existing cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Industry and China's Ministry of Industry in the same area.
