Energinet and 50Hertz Transmission GmbH are looking for a jack-up rig or a vessel that can offer housing and other services for crew and staff. The unit must be located next to a wind turbine substation at the Kriegers Flak wind farm in the Danish part of the Baltic Sea.

"The jack-up or the vessel must be in place for about three months, from May to July 2018, during connection and commissioning of the transformer station," said the two transmission system operators.

The contract is valued at 4 million EUR and it is possible to bid until November 9, 2017. Energinet builds the land- and offshore infrastructure, which will connect Vattenfall's 600 MW Kriegers Flak wind farm with the Danish network.

The offshore wind farm consists of two sections, each with its own transformer station. Vestdelen, KFA, will have a total capacity of 200 MW. Østendelen, KFB, will have a total capacity of 400 MW.
The KFB substation will also serve as support for the KFE module, which is part of the so-called Combined Grid Solution, a joint project between Energinet and 50Hertz, which will connect the Danish and German networks through the two wind farms Kriegers Flak and Germany's 288 MW Baltic 2.
