The Executive Director of the danish K2 Management Henrik Stamer and Managers of the Taiwan Institute for Economic Research and CR Classification Society signed a Memorandum of Understanding on marine engineering projects on September 7 at the International Maritime Museum in Hamburg.

The agreement is valid for three years and is intended to support work towards a more developed Taiwan wind farm. In July 2013, K2 Management opened an office in Taiwan to provide its support, knowledge and experience to the country's wind industry.

Taiwan is commencing a process of replacing nuclear power production with wind turbines, and according to K2 Management, the target for 2025 has now increased from 3 GW to 5,5 GW. In May 2017, Taiwan's Ministry of Economy issued the first commercial operating license for an offshore wind farm in the country.
