Søby Shipyard at Ærø has signed a contract for the delivery of three stern trawlers for Norway. Thus, the yard can look forward to a period of record-breaking order books that will ensure employment growth, the yard declares.

It is three Norwegian shipping companies, with their orders of three 15-meter long stern trawlers, that will create extra bustle on the yard in Søby on Ærø.

Søby Shipyard already has two newbuilding orders. New building No. 107 is an electric ferry for Ærø municipality, an EU development project and new building no. 108, a hybrid ferry to the Thyborøn - Agger Transit, which is being built for Lemvig Municipality. The two ferries will be delivered in Q1 2018.

"The newbuilding orders help ensure growth in our employees' strengths and with our business partners. They are supported by our repair and maintenance activities, as well as road work worldwide in the field of motor transfers, pipe work, etc." says CEO Roar Falkenberg, Søby Shipyard.

The three trawlers will be delivered in the third quarter of 2018.
