DONG Energy awards CWind a new contract
CWind, part of Global Marine Group, has been awarded a contract by DONG Energy to install new and replace existing ports at the transitions (TP) at Gode Vind and Borkum Riffgrund wind farms in the German North Sea.
"We have worked with DONG Energy for many years, including extensive prior work in Gode Vind, and we are pleased to continue our close business relationship. The decision to use the same team for the new project to ensure consistency has been well received by the customer." Says Lee Andrews, CEO of CWind.
CWind will use its own crew ships, equipment and engineers. CWind Phantom, a 27,4m catamaran, will work on Gode Vindís 97 and Borkum Riffgrund's 77 turbines. The work began on September 1, 2017, where the first phase is expected to be completed in eight weeks.
The entire project is scheduled for completion within a year and will call give work to eight of CWinds electrical engineers and mechanical technicians.
