Cable work in Race Bank almost done
All internal cables in the Race Bank offshore wind park have now been placed. The digging work is also close to being completed according to DONG Energy, the owner and developer of the 573 MW project off the North Norfolk coast in the British North Sea.
DONG awarded the contract for cable installation and digging work to DeepOcean 1 UK Ltd. The cables for use internally in the park were provided by JDR Cables. Earlier this week, Jan De Nul implemented the export cables for the Race Bank project.
Race Bank will consist of 91 Siemens 6 MW turbines, currently installed approximately 25 kilometers from Blakeney Point. The offshore wind farm is being built from DONG Energy's facilities in Grimsby Fish Docks and is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2018.
