Vattenfall turbine service put out to tender
Vattenfall seeks crew transfer vessels (CTVs) for the construction, operation and maintenance of the 406 MW wind farm, Horns Rev 3, in the Danish part of the North Sea. The vessels will provide transport for technicians between the port of Esbjerg, possibly Hvide Sande, and the wind farm.
In connection with the design phase, Vattenfall wishes to enter an agreement with a supplier that readies two Crew Transfer Vessel from March 1 and June 1, 2018 until January 31, 2019. The charter for each vessel may be extended by up to six months.
For operation and maintenance, Vattenfall seeks a single provider of CTVs for a period of three years. The contracts are expected to start on August 1, 2018 and end on July 31, 2021. Each contract will allow for a period of up to three more years.
Horns Rev 3 wind farm is located off the Danish west coast of Horns Rev on low waters in the North Sea, about 25 km northwest of Denmark's westernmost point, Blåvands Huk. The sailing distance from Esbjerg harbor to the park is approximately 35 nautical miles.
It is possible to bid for the contracts until September 23, 2017. Horns Rev 3 will consist of 49 MHI Vestas 8MW turbines optimized to 8.3MW.
