Solid half-year for Frederikshavn Harbor

Frederikshavn Harbor had a profit of DKK 13,1 million in the first half of the year. Revenue has been around 10 percent over budget until June 31, 2017, and half-year earnings are 21 percent above the budget for the first half of the year.

"We have seen a positive development in the activities across a broad range, and expect 2017 to end at a level that is over 2016, where Frederikshavn Port had a profit of DKK 17,04 million," says Bo Uggerhøj, Chairman of the board.

2016 was the best year for the port since 2007, but the money is also needed. Frederikshavn Harbor's board is preparing the decision base for Stage 2 in the port expansion project. It must start, by 2018, when the ongoing Stage 1 is over. The expansion means the establishment of an additional 400-meter berth and a deepening of 14 meters in the harbor basin.

"We are pleased that we are able to produce solid results in the port and that we can get ready for 2018 and 2019, which, compared to 2016 and 2017, is referred to as the year of maturity in relation to the launch of the new activities that come in connection with the completed port extension in 2018.

Once the port has been completed, we must expect that some time will be spent on establishing the facilities that will form the basis for the new activities that come to Frederikshavn," says Bo Uggerhøj.
