Maersk Broker has now bought all shares in the Danish ship broker company Lanic, which the family-owned Maersk Broker has been a major shareholder in for over a year. The acquisition is part of the ambition of expanding the business volume, TradeWinds wrote.

"This latest development will enable all our brokers to equip our customers with even more available information, better market coverage and opportunities through Maersk Broker Bulk Chartering's global organization and network," said Maersk Broker's statement.

Maersk Broker has been on expansion course in the last couple of years, especially in the dry cargo market, where the company entered a strategic partnership with Wonsild in December 2015.
Earlier this month, Maersk Broker recruited five new brokers to expand its panamax and capesize dry cargo business in Singapore and Copenhagen.
