Through its Luxembourg-based company New Energy Investment, Goldman Sachs has put 10,509,527 shares in DONG up for sale. This corresponds to approx. 2,5 pct. of the shares in the company. After the sale, Goldman Sachs will have approx. 4,5 pct. of its shares in DONG back.

According to Bloomberg News, the shares are sold at a price of 270DKK per share, which will bring Goldman Sachs up to DKK 3 billion. The closing price Monday was DKK 275 per share.

In February, Goldman Sachs sold out of the heavily disputed DONG investment in Denmark this year, where approx. 6,3 pct.of the shares were sold at a price of 245DKK, corresponding to a total selling price of up to 6,5 billion DKK.

In connection with the sale, Goldman Sachs stated that Martin Hintze, Managing Director of Goldman Sachs International, would not seek re-election to DONG Energy's board of directors to which he was a member since the US investment bank made its acquisition in the Danish energy company.

The sale of DONG Energy shares in 2014 was the largest Danish sales of state-owned shares since the privatization of Scandlines in 2007.

It is expected that Goldman Sachs will sell the remaining shares in DONG before the end of the year.
