Two die in accident in Copenhagen Harbor
Two people have died after one or more jet skis crashed into a small boat on the water at high speed at Langebro in Copenhagen Harbor yesterday. According to the Copenhagen Police, the accident happened around 19.43. Immediately after the accident, several jet skis sailed away from the spot at high speed.
"The rescue and health care cabinet immediately launched a major effort in connection to the accident. The accident had resulted in several injured persons. At present, it is stated that one person has died and one is seriously injured and that at least five are injured,"Copenhagen Police wrote yesterday shortly after the accident on their website.
On Twitter, the Copenhagen Police writes that eight people were subsequently arrested in Brøndbyin connection with the accident and that another injured person died. The announcement also states that those arrested will be produced in a constitutional court hearing in Copenhagen's Judicial Office today.
Before the accident, the Copenhagen Police had received several calls that jet skiing was occurring around the harbor, which is illegal. Because of this, the police sailed to the area. Upon arrival, the police saw one or more jet skis crash into a smaller boat.
