Huge progress in orders at Siemens Wind
Orders in the Siemens Wind Power and Renewables division amounted to approximately 3,1 billion EUR, around 23 billion DKK, in Q2 2017, compared to approximately 2,1 billion EUR, or 15,6 billion DKK, in the same period last year.
"Siemens reported strong growth in sales in almost all industrial companies in the second quarter of fiscal year 2017, with the strongest contributions from Wind Power and Renewables and Energy Management, both with major contract gains," the company says.
The increase is due to higher volumes from large orders, including a winning contract of 1,4 billion EUR at a wind turbine park, as well as service in Germany. By comparison, the largest order in the second quarter of 2016 was a wind farm of 1,2 billion EUR in the UK.
Overall, the entire company had a revenue increase of six percent compared to the second quarter of 2016, to 20,2 billion EUR, and an order intake of 22,6 billion EUR, an increase of two percent.
