With effect from 1 October, Peter Kalsi 2020 takes up the position as Group CEO and CEO for Clipper Bulk, the Group’s largest business entity. Amrit Peter Kalsi succeeds Peter Norborg who, upon mutual agreement with Clipper, is moving on to new challenges outside the Group.

Amrit Peter Kalsi joined Clipper in 2011 as Vice President and advanced to Senior Vice President in 2014 and Group COO, Head of Chartering and Operations at Clipper Bulk, in 2015. Amrit has worked in shipping since 1994 and previously held positions as Senior General Manager at Maersk Tankers and Head of Operations at Damco. Born in 1975, Amrit is trained in shipping and has completed executive training at Harvard Business School and Cranfield School of Management.

Commenting on the management change, Frank Gülnar Jensen, partner and Chairman of Clipper Group, says: “Peter Norborg has been instrumental in Clipper’s strategic re-focus on dry bulk and ro-ro with the strengthening of business platforms in both segments. We would like to express our gratitude to Peter and wish him all the best. We are pleased to execute this management change without losing continuity.

Commenting on his new role, Amrit Peter Kalsi says: “I am truly excited about this opportunity as Clipper enters into a phase where we will approach markets more offensively. Benefiting from our cost-effective business platforms, we will pursue growth opportunities in dry bulk for both the pools, the chartered fleet, and owned vessels. At the same time, we will continue to develop the Group’s ro-ro activities.”

Amrit Peter Kalsi will constitute Clipper Group’s Senior Management Team with Group CFO Henrik Kvist- Jacobsen and Senior Vice President, Head of Legal and Corporate Affairs, Thomas Martinussen.

Peter Norborg, who joined Clipper in April 2016, will take up a new position outside Clipper with effect from 1 January 2021. In the transition period, he will be available to Clipper. Peter Norborg says: “I feel a sadness leaving Clipper and its many skilled and loyal employees behind, and I take great pride in the results we have achieved together. But with Clipper increasingly sailing in smooth waters, time is ripe for me to embark upon a new journey.”
