Danish Shipping seeks inspiration

Danish Shipping and Copenhagen Business School are focusing on the value creation and benefits that shipping companies can get from working with undergraduate students doing bachelor degrees. This will happen in form an event that takes place on February 20 which will be open for everyone.

“The maritime industry needs young people. We already seeing that shipping companies have welcomed the new graduates from the bachelor programs in shipping. But we need to strengthen the relationship between students and these companies so that everyone becomes aware of how we can help each other, ”says Acting Executive Director at Danish Shipping, Asbjørn Overgaard Christiansen

The purpose of the event, ”Value Creation in Shipping Companies in a Digital World – How to Benefit from Collaboration with Bachelor Students”, is to create new perspectives on the future of the shipping industry, as well as the roles that students can play in a constantly changing and digitized world.

At the event, this will happen through cases, presentations and networking. The initiative is the result of an increasing need for innovation in the maritime industry, where undergraduate students doing bachelor degrees are considered valid candidates to help make a significant difference.

Copenhagen Business School, a partner at the event, established a specialized academic bachelor program a few years ago titled “International Shipping and Trade”. An initiative that has been highly sought after by shipping companies.

The event takes place on February 20 from 14:30-17:00 at Danish Shipping and is free for anyone to attend.
