Norwegian shipping company JJ Ugland has chartered their newest ultramax to Danish shipping company Norden. JJ Uglands ship Jorita of 63.000 DWT was named last Wednesday at Shin Kasado shipyard in Japan by its god mother Pernille Berg Johnsson. The shipyard delivered a sister ship in 2017.

JJ Ugland has not given any information regarding the terms of the charter contract. But last month, Scorpio Bulkers chartered their ship SBI Libra of 64.000 DWT, build in 2017, on a five to seven month contract for 15.250 US dollars per day.

JJ Ugland’s fleet consists of 15 ultramaxes and supramaxes as well as two platform supply vessels (PSV) and a heavy lift crane vessel. The company also has recently ordered two new ultramaxes. The first will be delivered this year and the second by 2020 from Tsuneishi Cebu and Sanoyas Shipbuilding.
