One of the countries largest shipping agencies SDK Shipping will be moving its Aalborg office to the East Port at the Port of Aalborg on January 1 2019. SDK Shipping, which until June 28 2018 went under the name Shipping.dk, has signed a lease issued by the Port of Aalborg A/S regarding renting the new offices. The logistics company’s seven employees in Aalborg will be working from Langerak in the future.

”We have been wanting to move to a more maritime inspired environment. Our current location is not quite the maritime environment that it once was, and these days we simply need to be close to other companies in the sector and not least the network that comes with the territory of being where the action happens” says COO of SDK Shipping, Steffen S. Dalsgaard.

The company which is represented in five countries and has approximately 350 employees in 23 offices is moving its current department in Aalborg from Stigborgvej in Nørresundby, where they have been since they took over the offices from Maersk Broker Agency in 2015.

SDK is also the new name for Shipping.dk, and the name change, which has been official since June 28, also included the company's subsidiaries, Including J. Gotfred Jensen Shipping in Aarhus, Randers Agencies in Randers and Thomas Wang in Nyborg, all companies that previously operated under own brand names.

According to Steffen S. Dalgaard, the purpose of the name change was to unite the separate companies and make them one unit with a common approach to the company's solutions.
The company reached a milestone last year with a turnover of one billion Danish kroner, and the Port of Aalborg looks forward to welcoming the successful company to Langerak.

The new offices offers SDK Shipping nearly 120 square meters of space, and a cafeteria and conference facilities.
