Færgerederierne announces new chairman

24-09-2018 12:00:00

Danish ferry shipping organization Færgerederierne (Ferry Shipping Companies in English) has found a new chairman. The new chairman will be former CEO of Scandlines, Søren Poulsgaard Jensen. He will takeover the position after former John Steen-Mikkelsen, on last Friday, resigned after spending 11 as chairman of the organization

"Personally, I would like to show my appreciation for many good years as chairman for the Ferry Shipping Companies. It is a profession that has had a solid growth, which I had the pleasure of representing for 11 years as foreman of the organization. Fortunately, prospects are also good for the next few years, where new forces will be at the forefront of the Ferry Shipping Companies, "says John Steen-Mikkelsen.

But the new foreman is not exactly green in the field. The choice for the next foreman became former vice chairman Søren Poulsgaard-Jensen, who looks forward to continuing the work that has resulted in growth in the Ferry Shipping Companies organization these last few years.

"I am pleased to takeover the position as chairman. The Ferry Shipping Companies is an organization fueled by optimism, and the ferry sector in Denmark is in rapid development. I look forward to the coming years to make sure that the organization continues to give its members value. At the same time, we must be an active voice in the public debate on the traffic cohesion in Denmark, "says Søren Poulsgaard-Jensen.

The new vice chairman of the organization will be the ferry service company Moljslinjen’s CEO, Carsten Jensen.
