New Bornholm ferry arrives in Køge

24-08-2018 12:00:00

The newly build ferry Hammerhus, which will sail the routes between Rønne-Køge and Rønne-Sassnitz for the Bornholm Line, arrived in Køge for the first time on the night to Friday, straight from the shipyard in Finland.

The ferry is both a passenger and freighter ferry, and is 158 meters in length and has 1500 lane meters for freight and room for 720 passengers.

The original plan was that Hammershus was to be delivered in the end of June but the building process was delayed.

The crew has one week practice onboard the ferry before sailing starts.

On September 1, shipping company Molslinjen will be in charge of operating the ferry service, which was previously operated by the company Færgen. Molslinjen will run the routes to Bornholm under the name Bornholmerlinjen (the Bornholm Line).
