10 people have been hospitalized due to a case of smoke poisoning, which occurred due to a fire that broke out on a windmill ship in the port of Esbjerg, this morning informs the police of South and South Jutland. Several helicopters were called to the scene.

The fire occurred on the Dutch registered freight vessel EEMS Dundee, as windmills had to be welded in the cargo compartment prior to being transported to Uddevalla in Sweden, TV South writes.

Southern Jutlands fire department quickly got control of the fire, which let of an extreme amount of toxic smoke.

"The ten people were driven and flown to hospitals in Esbjerg, Kolding and Aabenraa, so that the hospital in Esbjerg does not get overcrowded," says Ole Aamann, deputy head of South and Southern Jutland Police, to TV South.
