Ørsteds Race Bank SOV begins trials
Edda Passat, the first Service Operations Vessel (SOV) built in Spain, has begun its sailing tests. The ship departed from Ria del Eo in mid-February and is currently located in the port of Gijón, where it is to begin its two-week sailing test program before heading to Ørsted's Race Bank offshore wind farm in Great Britain.
Edda Passat and the sister ship Edda Mistral were manufactured by Astilleros Gondan for the Norwegian ship owning company Østensjø Rederi, which named and launched the two vessels earlier in February. Edda Mistral, which is expected to be delivered in August, will work at Ørsted Hornsea Project One wind farm in the UK.
