Maersk Supply Service hit with impairment

Maersk Supply Service hit with impairment

09-02-2018 11:06:25

Maersk Supply Service has a loss of 251 million dollars, a loss that is heavily influenced by another impairment. This year the impairment amounted to 180 million dollars due to the market, which continues to be pressured. In the financial year of 2016, the company was hit with an impairment of 1.2 billion dollars.

It has proved to be difficult to find buyers for Maersk Supply Service, which wont be part of the continuing Maersk concentrating on containers and logistics. The company's earnings this year were affected by an impairment of 180 million dollars leading to a loss of 251 million Danish kroner.

The company is expected to be part of a "structural solution" - a sale - by the end of 2018.

Earlier this year Berlingske informed that the company possibly could be taken over by A.P. Møller Holding A / S, as was the case with Maersk Tanker last year.
