Historical wind farm has now been taken down

Vindeby wind farm was built in 1991 to demonstrate that it was possible to produce electricity at sea. In this way, the park's 11 wind turbines kicked off in an industry that currently employs 30,000 in Denmark and converts for approx. DKK 90 billion. See how the park is taken down.

In 1991, there were pioneers from the then Electric Power, which experimented with placing wind turbines out in the low water. Since the birth of Vindeby, the wind farms have grown in capacity to be regular power plants today. Each of the largest wind turbines available on the market today produces more power than the entire wind farm of Vindeby.

And after 25 years of operation, the mills were worn out and in March DONG started the demolition of the park. A complicated and slow process, partly because of the low water depths at the park, which made it necessary to use smaller vessels.
