Senior Cargo Underwriter, Denmark, If Industrial
Our book of cargo business is growing, so we are on the lookout for a senior cargo underwriter to ensure the continued high level of service to our existing customers as well as continuing the success and significant growth in writing new business.
Your tasks will be to design, price and implement insurance programs ensuring both compliance with guidelines, reinsurance and established processes as well as long-term profitability. Apart from this you will also participate in various development projects with both Danish and Nordic colleagues.
The Casualty & Cargo Marine department is part of a Nordic cargo team consisting of 15 dedicated cargo underwriters and assistants, whereof two are located in Denmark and supported by the Danish casualty department. The cargo underwriting team has a close cooperation with our experienced claims handlers as well as our specialized International Transport Law Team.
As cargo underwriter at If Industrial you will be working with cargo underwriting in a broader sense involving Marine Cargo Liability, Freight Forwarders Liability and customized solutions such as Marine Cargo Stock Through Put and Marine Cargo Delay in Start Up policies. You do not need to be experienced in all products; we are a Nordic team of resources, so support is never far away.

· Underwriting Cargo policies for companies with a turnover of more than DKK 500M and more than 500 employees
· Financial responsibility for profitability of your part of the cargo portfolio
· Participating in developing the strategy and the cargo portfolio in Denmark
· Participating in meetings and events with clients and brokers
· Participating in both ongoing and ad hoc projects with development of insurance products, guidelines, processes etc.
You have a solid professional knowledge of cargo insurance obtained through your work in insurance, law- or shipping industries
You are analytical and structured, and take pride in finding good solutions for our customers. You have a flexible business approach and an enquiring mind.
You have the ability to create and maintain strong relations internally as well as externally. You are comfortable in participating in meetings with brokers and clients for both marketing and negotiation. You speak and write English at negotiation level.
