In 2016, Grenaa Harborhad progress in both activities and sales. Revenues rose to DKK 52.7 million compared to DKK 46.4 million the previous year. The port had a profit of DKK 8.1 million. Regional Council Chairman Bent Hansen has been elected as new Chairman of the Board of Directors after Poul Anker Lübker.

"As chairman I had the task of ensuring that the new director was given the opportunity to get involved in the job and get properly started. It has been fully satisfactory and I think the time is right to leave the harbor to make way for new hands,"said Poul Anker Lübker at the Annual General Meeting of Grenaa Harbor A/S on April 24, 2017.

The harbor handled 1,4 million tons of goods in 2016 compared to 1,2 million tons of goods in 2015. Just a few months after the adoption of the new Grenaa Harbor Strategic Plan, it received a part of the honor for Grenaa Harbor to exit 2016 with a positive financial result and progress in the main areas.

The Board of Directors finds the results for the year satisfactory and expects increased progress in the current year. The strategy plan includes an adaptation of the organization, which has now been completed, and Poul Anker Lübkernoted the future of the port as probably the best ever.

After eight years as a member of the Board of Directors and a single year as chairman, Poul Anker Lübker had announced that he did not want re-electionbefore the general meeting. Bent Hansen, regional council chairman, was elected new chairman and has been in the board of Grenaa Harbor A/S since 2015.

Bent Hansen has been Chairman of the Central Denmark Region since 2007 and chaired the Viborg County Council from 1990-2007. He is also Chairman of the Danish Regions. Bent Hansen will not re-elect to the district council elections later this year.
