Traffic volumes in Ystad Harbour continue to grow. In 2016, as many as four new records were set and the magic threshold of 2,000,000 passengers was reached. 1,375,176 passengers traveled between Bornholm and Ystad in 2016.

"It is very satisfying to see a positivity reflected in the traffic figures. With several traffic records in 2016, we confirm our position as one of Sweden's largest ports," says Managing Director of Ystad Harbour, Björn Boström.

Ystad Harbour's traffic figures for 2016 show a very positive development. The quantities of goods, trucks, cars and passengers all set new records in 2016. Ystad Harbour expects the positive trend to continue in coming years, and the port is preparing for increasing traffic volumes and larger ferries, by building two new berths.

in Denmark, Ystad Harbour is especially known for the Ystad-Rønne route. In 2016, 1,375,176 passengers traveled between Ystad and Bornholm. It is a contributing factor to Ystad Harbour reaching the magic threshold of 2,000,000 passengers in 2016. The impressive increase in the volume of goods on the whole which was 11,4 percent was primarily due to growth in traffic between Ystad and Poland.

"We expect the growth in the market to continue in the coming years, and together with our customers, we are in the process of planning how we should handle increasing traffic volumes in the future," says Björn Boström.
