Moody's downgrade assessment of Maersk

Moody's downgrade assessment of Maersk

22-12-2016 10:00:00

The rating agency Moody's is not enthusiastic about the upcoming split of A.P. Møller-Maersk. The agency lowers its credit rating of the group from Baa1 to Baa2 - with the addition of negative outlook.

The reaction differs from the positive reception the stock market has given the decision to split the group in a transport department centered around containers, and an energy department that in one way or another will be sold.

Moody's justifies the downgrade that Maersk after the split will be more vulnerable to a further weakening of the container market
