Blue Water starts the potato season

Blue Water starts the potato season

30-10-2016 12:00:00

Blue Water Brest is pleased to note that the season for potatoes has begun once again. Although with a few weeks delay compared to previous years. Despite this delay and a difficult market, Blue Water Brest stays positive.

"This season would appear to provide some challenges. For example, Algeria has introduced new import procedures to reduce imports. In addition, several countries are affected by the devalued currency, so in terms of freight volumes it may not be the best season. But let's see about this when we get further along in the season," says Marianne Girardin of Blue Waters chartering department in Brest.

The season begain in November with the loading of the refrigeration ship Silver Horn in Brest. The vessel set sail for Tunisia and was loaded for our good and long-standing customer Germicopa & Gopex.

In Esbjerg, Samskip Glacier was loaded for Danespo. The ship is going to Algeria. Both vessels are chartered by the Norwegian ship owner Silversea.
