The Minister of Research and education Ulla Tørnæs gave Fredericia Maskinmesterskole permission to increase the number of admitted students to the program in Esbjerg this year. The education is popular and that it leads to jobs.

The permission is underway despite the fact that there is already a record number of students at the country's engineering schools. But the unemployment numbers among the engineers is very low and the Engineers' Association is experiencing increasing demand for qualified technical manpower in the Danish industry.

The Engineers' Association is working on a study of the demand for qualified technical manpower. The study is published in May, but there is already preliminary results.
