Requirement for future maritime educations

26-08-2014 16:00:00

Increased environmental requirements and increasing competition on a global scale poses new, high demands for future maritime employees. In connection with the Danish Maritime Days 6 to 10 October, the conference "Maritime Competences in the Future - Effects from the Danish Maritime Cluster projects" focus on maritime educations

"The maritime industry is and has been undergoing a significant transformation in recent years. Not least, the increasing environmental requirements and the fierce global competition have contributed to that one had to adapt maritime education, "says project leader for the conference Henriette Dybkjr.

The conference will be based on the results of the project "Danish Maritime Cluster" presenting the skills that the maritime industry will need in the future. "Project Danish Maritime Cluster" was intended to provide education and training, equipping future maritime employees to a profession that has changed significantly over the years.

This means, among other things, setting up interdisciplinary collaboration between machine schools and universities, in turn, has had the common goal of creating maritime educations that meet the new requirements for future employees in the maritime.

Danish Maritime Days includes more than 50 different events over the five days. See the program
