Watch Skagen Maersk twist and turn

09-04-2014 12:00:00

This video shows the kind of pressure the hull of a 347 meter container ship is exposed to when the weather is bad. Fortunately the ship is designed to withstand that kind of pressure. The video is recorded by Claus Tuxen, Frederikshavn.

Skagen Maersk, along with several other ships of the so-called S-Class, was built at the former Maersk-owned, Lindø Shipyard, in 1999. It is 347 meters long and 47 meters wide with a deadweight of 110,387 tons.
