BRIEF NEWS: The rate increase Maersk Line has announced taking effect on November 1 will not, as initially planned be at $ 600 per TEU, but at $ 950 per TEU. Maersk Line informs news agency Bloomberg

Last week, the spot rates on the route between Asia and Europe declined for the eighth consecutive week. The decline was 12.6 percent to $ 765 per TEU. On the routes from Asia to the Mediterranean, rates declined by 11.3 percent to $ 837 per TEU.

Added together, the rates have declined more than 30 percent since the start of the year.
